Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Rajpura under Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC)
AKIC envisaged by Govt. of India is a proposed economic corridor between Amritsar and Kolkata to give a boost to industrial activity in Northern and Eastern part of the country. The project aims at major expansion of Industrial Cluster in all the seven states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal along route of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor.
Govt of Punjab has considered to set up Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Rajpura under Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor Project. Govt. of Punjab has identified 1000 acres of panchayat land for setting up IMC at Rajpura.
The above issue was discussed in the 1st meeting of Punjab Industrial & Development Board under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble Chief Minister Punjab on 27.12.2017, a committee to frame a scheme for settlement of old tenants has been constituted under the chairmanship of Financial Commissioner (Revenue), Punjab vide notification dated 06.03.2018. In the meeting, board also approved in principle setting up of Global Manufacturing and Knowledge Park at Rajpura.
Besides above, to provide direct approach to the IMC site from NH-44 (G.T. road) PSIEC initiated the process to procure/obtain about 42 acres land from land owners with mutual consent for the construction of 100 ft. wide proposed approach road as per Rajpura Master Plan provisions. The length of proposed approach road is about 6 Km.
