Export Promotion Activities: PSIEC is a Nodal Agency of Punjab Government for promotion of exports and implementation of various schemes of Central Government for the growth of exports from the State. It also facilitates the visit of delegations of manufacturers/exporters from the State of Punjab to overseas countries. 1. ASIDE Scheme of Govt. of India PSIEC is a Nodal Agency for implementation of Central Government scheme known as Assistance to States for Development of Export Infrastructure and Allied Activities (ASIDE) Scheme. A State Level Export Promotion Committee (SLEPC) has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Punjab to approve the projects. PSIEC received a sum of Rs. 15.98 crs. during the financial year 2014-15 through the State Govt. under this scheme. Out of this, Rs. 12.78 crs. has been released against 5 projects approved by SLEPC. Govt. of India has discontinued this scheme from 2015-16. Ministry of Commerce GoI has introduced a new scheme titled “Trade Infrastructire for Export Scheme”(TIES) for the period 2017-2020. As per the guidelines the project proposal under the scheme to be submitted by the implementing agency of the state shall be technical and financially vetted by the respective departments of the state Govt. and the Export Commissioner of the state shall be the Nodal Officer. The Managing Director PSIEC has already been nominated as Export Commissioner of the Punjab State. 2. India International Trade Fair (IITF), New Delhi.On behalf of Govt. of Punjab, PSIEC coordinates the state participation in the India International Trade Fair (IITF) held from 14th to 27th November every year at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. 3. Setting up of an Apparel Park at Ludhiana The Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, accorded its approval to PSIEC for setting up of an Apparel Park at Ludhiana with private participation wherein world class infrastructure was to be provided. A new company under the name of Punjab Apparel Park Ltd., was incorporated on 31.3.2003. For monitoring the progress of the Apparel Park, the State Government constituted a State Level Committee (SLC) under the chairmanship of Prinicipal Secretary, Industries & Commerce. The total cost of the project is Rs. 40.00crs. and Govt. of India has provided a grant of Rs. 13.07 crs. for the same.
